CE / Declaration of Conformity

Does your Declaration of Conformity actually cover the SKU being sold?

A CE Declaration of Conformity is only useful for marketplace evidence if it matches the product, model, manufacturer, applicable EU directives, standards, and technical documentation behind the SKU being sold. Mismatches between the listing and the DoC are one of the most common evidence problems we find.

Gap summary by email

A free evidence-readiness preview is sent to your email. It shows missing or unclear evidence categories and recommended next actions.

Listara provides an evidence-readiness review. It does not provide legal certification, laboratory testing, official marketplace approval, or legal advice.

The free check flags listing-visible CE signals — CE mark shown, manufacturer/RP details, model identifiers. Confirming your Declaration of Conformity actually matches the SKU (directives, standards, model, technical file) needs the document itself — that's the paid SKU Readiness Pilot.

"Does my Declaration of Conformity cover this specific model or variant?"
"Which standards should be listed on the DoC for this product category?"
"My test report is for a different variant — does that matter?"
"The manufacturer on the DoC is different from the listing — is that a problem?"
"What does Amazon need alongside a Declaration of Conformity?"

These are the kinds of questions the free check helps you start answering.

What is a Declaration of Conformity?+

A Declaration of Conformity (DoC) is a document in which the manufacturer or their authorised representative declares that a product meets the requirements of the applicable EU directives and regulations. It is required for CE-marked products and must identify the product, applicable standards, and responsible manufacturer.

Does Amazon ask for a Declaration of Conformity?+

For products requiring CE marking, Amazon EU may request a Declaration of Conformity as part of compliance document requests. The DoC must match the specific product model and ASIN being sold. Listara checks whether DoC evidence appears linked to the correct ASIN.

What is the difference between a Declaration of Conformity and a test report?+

A Declaration of Conformity is a declaration by the manufacturer that the product meets applicable EU requirements. A test report is evidence from an accredited lab that supports that declaration by showing the product was tested against applicable standards. Both are typically required for CE-marked products.

What is a CE technical file?+

A technical file contains all the documentation supporting a product's CE marking, including the DoC, test reports, risk assessments, design and manufacturing documentation, and instructions for use. Listara checks whether key elements of the technical documentation appear present and linked to the correct SKU.

Does Listara certify CE compliance?+

No. Listara does not certify or approve CE compliance. It helps you identify whether evidence appears present, matched, and linked to the correct SKU before your team submits to a marketplace or regulatory body. It does not provide legal advice or act as a notified body.

Marketplaces and EU product-safety workflows increasingly ask sellers to provide product-level evidence: certificates, test reports, manuals, labels, Responsible Person details, manufacturer and importer information. Listara does not certify compliance. It helps you find missing evidence and organize the next actions before a request becomes urgent.

Need full DoC and technical file coverage?

The SKU Evidence Readiness Pilot maps uploaded DoCs, test reports, and technical documentation to your ASIN/SKU export — flagging mismatches, gaps, and outdated evidence per SKU.
